How do I repair corrupted files?

Our Databack data recovery laboratory can restore corrupted files. Our expertise enables us to analyze the source of data corruption and intervene on all types of hardware: PC and Mac computers, hard disks, RAID, USB sticks, NAS / SAN servers…

Data corruption

File corruption is the alteration or modification of computer data from its original state. Corrupted files, while still present on the storage medium, turn out to be inaccessible and impossible to open by any software process. So if a file gives an error when you try to access it, your data has probably been damaged or corrupted.

Data corruption affects all storage media (hard disks, USB sticks, memory cards, etc.), making it impossible for them to communicate with the host or client workstation. File corruption can occur in both read and write mode, during storage or transmission, and can be attributed to a number of factors:

  • power failure or overvoltage ;
  • storage medium degradation ;
  • computer virus or malware ;
  • unexpected error during application ;
  • unexpected system shutdown or restart ;
